In my research journey, I navigate the intricate intersections of social work, religion, multiculturalism, and the welfare state. I am deeply passionate about unraveling the impact of these forces on our societal tapestry.

My exploration extends to the pivotal role played by religious actors and organizations in shaping social policies. Simultaneously, I delve into the profound significance of religion in the lives of individuals—whether it's adolescents finding their way, parents navigating complexities, or therapeutic professionals providing support. Beyond these academic pursuits, today, I run The Ralph Goldman Center for Social Welfare, Judaism, and Ethics. This role allows me to bridge theory and practice and empowers me to implement and influence social policies that reflect the principles I advocate in my research.

Before starting my academic career, I managed the Equal Opportunities Unit at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. This professional experience gave me valuable insights into the practical aspects of promoting inclusivity and addressing disparities in an academic setting. Therefore, in recent years, my curiosity has led me to explore the sense of belonging among students from minority groups within the Israeli higher education system. This research enriches our understanding of diversity in higher education and advocates for inclusive policies.

in addition, Delving into historical narratives, I trace the evolution of the Palestinian welfare 'system' during the mandate period, offering insights into the roots of the social policies. This historical exploration provides a context for understanding the development of social policies, connecting the past to present challenges.

In my research journey, the collective impact of these seemingly disparate threads lies in fostering inclusivity and driving positive changes. Beyond academia, my commitment extends to applying these insights practically shaping social work, influencing policies, and contributing to societal well-being, particularly among national and ethnic groups positioned on the social and political margins. This is not just research for the sake of knowledge; it's a personal journey towards creating a more understanding and supportive world. To bring my research full circle, my goal is to contribute to knowledge and actively participate in creating a diverse world where understanding and acceptance flourish, transcending boundaries. It's a personal commitment to foster diversity for the sake of a more just world.
